Every girl loves a fuss-free makeup. Honestly speaking, I am not a fan of stick foundations. I found them to be very heavy, difficult to blend. Most stick foundations can me the skin look dry if not properly moisturised and overall foundation can turn cakey etc.
Coming from a luxury brand, Hourglass Cosmetics – This latest makeup addition Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is different from the traditional paint sticks. It’s a 2-in-1 product; Basically, foundation and concealer in one. I got sent this foundation shade in Golden and a foundation brush for review. I was excited about the fact that it’s a 2-in-1 product. I can’t step out of my house without a concealer and I was really blown buy the idea of this multi-use product

Hourglass Vanish Foundation Brush – USD $46.00
A high-performance foundation brush designed with ideal shape, density, and texture to achieve the most seamless finish.
I really like how dense the brush head is. You can use this brush not just with this stick foundations. But, It’s excellent for blending liquid foundations as well. The denser head provides a better control and it’s very soft on face. It gives a streak free application. air-brushed effect. I used SigMagic Brushampoo to wash this and I didn’t notice any shedding or shape change after the wash. It dries pretty quick too.
Vanish Foundation Brush is designed specifically to work with the Vanish Foundation Stick for the most flawless foundation look. The bristles provide an ultrasoft texture that recreates a luxe microfiber feel on the face. Designed with a unique shape to fit into all the contours of the face, including around the nose and under the eyes, it features uniquely crimped bristles that provide the ultimate control so you can easily sweep the foundation across the face.
Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick – USD $46.00
The shade – Golden that I received matches warmer Indian skin tones well as it has strong yellow undertones. Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick is a long-wearing foundation stick with the coverage of a concealer, fluidity of a liquid, and weightlessness of a powder for invisible, full coverage.
Packaging – Honestly, I am not a biggest fan of its packaging. The twist up stick is convenient to use. Bust, definitely not for humid and sultry climates. I have had my foundation literally melt and stucked up to its lid and thus, I ended up wasting a lot of product. Each time I twist the sticks up, It was super difficult to twist them back to the bullet. I had to press it on my hands to release it down. I tried refrigerating and it’s the same when I take back. So, be careful if you are popping it in your handbag or keeping it the front seat of your car. Chances are high that it melts. It melts so bad!
Ease of Application – The triangular bullet gives a better precision and help reach the the contours of the face. Hardest areas where you need more coverage. The triangular shape gives better control on those area. I usually draw few lines on the areas of my face and then using the Hourglass Vanish foundation brush, I blend the product to cover the area.
Formula, Shade, Application – Formula is very creamy which makes it super easy to apply. I don’t recommend you to use a sponge to apply this. I really love how this foundation blur the pores on my face and really perfect my skin whilst making it look stunningly natural. I had to change my total opinion about stick foundations. This didn’t even once made m face cakey or made it dry or patchy etc. I tried with and without a primer. I had samples of hourglass veil primer and when I applied on top of hourglass veil primer, it blended beautifully. Otherwise, I like to use my Jordana or Milani Primer. For setting the foundation – I used RCMA setting powder. It gets dewy after a few hours of wear. no fading, no patchiness, neither did it turn cakey. For oily skin _ I recommend prepping your face well with a gel-based moisturizer and a mattifying primer. Also, make sure you set the foundation with a translucent powder. For those with dry, normal and combination skin- This works great.
Longevity – I got a wear time of about 6.5 – 7 hours or so until I started noticing it’s worn off on certain areas especially around nose and mouth. I also noticed my face to be on a dewy side. But, that’s manageable and you can always blot away excess oils or do a powder touch up on those oily areas if you intend to wear this for longer than 7-8 hours. Usually, stick foundations make my T-Zone area super oily. But this one was an exception. I love how beautiful and natural my whole face looked. Now – Taking about the concealer part- People who have heavy dark circles like me, You might need a separate concealer or highlighter on top of this. Else you are good to go provided your foundation is a closest match to your skin tone.
Take a look at the ingredients
Overall, It’s a great foundation that blends super easy. I am not a fan of its packaging especially as it melts quick and gets uprooted from the base so quick. Considering the price, It’s not acceptable. I like the product’s triangular shape which makes it super easy to apply using any denser foundation brush or the one from Hourglass itself. It beautifully blurs pores and gives a natural satin finish. Can be worn upto 6-7 hours after which you need a slight powder touchup on area where it tends to get oily.
