MAC stands out in releasing collections that are mind blowing in each season. MAC Cosmetics teamed up with Chinese-American fashion designer Chris Chang for this collection -With clashing patterns, colorful illustrations, MAC x Chris Chang Collection promises a “vivid kaleidoscope of cutting edge color” and draws inspiration from Kunqu, an ancient Chinese art form. You can read my blog post here to read about all of the products in this collection.
In this particular post, I am reviewing two lipsticks that I purchased from this collection. Now, this is one of those MAC collections which foster my mind to buy the products the moment I saw the packaging – Such a pretty collaboration of art, isn’t it…certainly a treat to eye and also a great addition to your vanity. Moving onto review – I picked the lipsticks – Vermillion Vee, Plum Princess
Product Description
China’s most outlandish fashion designer puts an acid-soaked twist on her modern M·A·C collection, featuring a vivid kaleidoscope of cutting-edge colour, inspired by the ancient Chinese art form Kunqu. Surreal hues of Lipstick, Cream Colour Base and Eye Shadow, and uniquely designed packaging, are saturated with her signature dramatic flair.

MAC x Chris Chang Lipstick – Plum Princess
Packaging & Price
Price -USD $20.00 each for 0.10 oz. of product. The packaging is very pretty. I love this limited edition packaging a lot.
Shade, Formula, Pigmentation
MAC x Chris Chang lipstick in Plum Princess is described as a “pastel plummy lavender with a matte finish”. It’s a light lavender with hints cool, grey undertone and has a matte finish. This shade has a great color payoff and glides on to lips very easily. Despite its creamier texture, the shade didn’t settle into fine lines or accentuate the lines on the lips.
MAC x Chris Chang Lipstick – Vermillion Vee
Shade, Formula, Pigmentation
The MAC x Chris Chang lipstick in Vermillion Vee is described as a “clean, true red with a matte finish. It’s a bright coral-red shade with warm undertones and a satin finish. It has a creamy consistency and within one layer, you get the desired color payoff. It glides on the lips very easily and non drying on normal lips as well.
Longevity
The MAC x Chris Chang lipsticks – Plum Princess & Vermillion Vee lasted about 4-5 hours on my lips and I found the formula to be very comfortable on my lips. It don’t have the dry texture most matte lipstick has which is a plus. On a side note – They are not over hydrating for your lips, so if you have extremely dry lips, you’ll need to use a lip balm before applying this.
Now, it’s the swatch time
