My mother have been trailing this range for over 6 months now. Though all the photographs are taken by me. The review is completely my mother’s opinion on using this fabulous skincare range from Oriflame.

Oriflame Royal Velvet Skincare Set – INR 5454 

The first thing that attracted me about this set is the packaging! How fabulous, luxurious and classy the packaging looks! I am in love with it. When I gifted this to my mother, She was super happy to start using them. I really like how Oriflame have come up with this set which specifically targets women over 40 + and their skin concerns.

The set includes: Cleansing Milk, Soothing Toner, Firming Day Cream, Repairing Night Cream, Firming Eye Contour Cream and Ultra Firming Capsules.

I really love how beautiful the packaging is – The capsule and day and night creams come in a bulky glass bottle. My mom uses a spatula to take out the cream for every use and the cleanser and toner come housed in plastic bottle with a small nozzle to dispense the product.

Oriflame suggests to use the products in this range in a step by step skincare routine to get maximum benefit of the ingredients.

STEP 1: Cleanse & Tone

• Start off by cleansing to removes impurities, excess oil, and allow for subsequent products to penetrate deeper and deliver better results.
• Next apply toner to remove final traces of make-up, tighten the skin to reduce pore appearance, while soothing and balancing.

STEP 2: Eyes

For the delicate skin area around the eyes use the lightly textured eye cream and massage in circular motions for about a minute. This help reduce signs of ageing.

STEP 3: Boost

Boost your skincare routine using the capsules from the same range. These concentrated and formulated products penetrate deeper into the skin for optimal results.

STEP 4: Moisturise

• Start off your day with a day cream to maintain skin balance, fight off signs of ageing and give yourself some sunscreen.
• At night when the skin is resting and is more receptive, it is best to use a richer and nourishing night cream.

Royal Velvet Creamy Cleansing Milk, Royal Velvet Soothing Toner – INR 979 each

Royal Velvet Creamy Cleansing Milk – 200ml

Removes impurities and helps restore the skin’s radiance. Enriched with Black Iris Infusion to keep mature skin firm and youthful without over drying.

My mom says this cleansing milk is runny in texture and it gently cleanses away all the dirt and other impurities. She use a cotton face pad to apply this cleansing milk all over the face. This is the first step in her skincare routine. She says- It smells pleasant. Not overpowering etc. You don’t require to wash off your face with water after using this. Follow with a toner from the same range. It doesn’t make the face dry. She have a super oily skin and this cleansing milk didn’t irritate her skin or made it dry.

Royal Velvet Soothing Toner – 200ml

Removes any last traces of make-up and impurities and prepares the skin for the firming and resilient properties of the Black Iris Infusion.

My mom says it has a light texture, No color to it. It refines pores and soothe the skin. Has a fresh and light texture and so doesn’t leave oily residue at all. Easy to use using a cotton face pad.

Both the toner and cleansing milk comes in a plastic packaging.

Royal Velvet Ultra Firming Capsules – INR 1899

Light yet deep-nourishing blend of 5 precious oils and Black Iris Infusion leaves your skin immediately smoothened and velvet soft, with fine lines and wrinkles visibly reduced. Follow with Royal Velvet Day or Night Cream. 28 capsules to be used in 4 weeks.

This is my mom’s favorite product. As she have an oily skin, She usually stay away from facial oils, serums and anything that can make her face oily. She says- this get absorbed super quick. It’s very very gentle on skin too. She says it just vanish onto her skin and it refines the skin and leave the skin smooth. No oily residue at all. She love to use it at night just before her regular night cream application.

Capsules are purple colored. easy to open and squeeze out. Has the same fragrance as the other products. She says- with regular use-her skin appears more firmer, refined and smooth. She says- the texture is thick. however, it just vanishes on to the skin leaving a smoother looking skin.

She even noticed it’s hydrating properties. Even in the coldest weather, her skin looked non stretchy, hydrated and supple. She have a darker skintone. I’d  easily make out a difference in her overall complexion. and also the lines on her face. I am not saying any miraculous whitening effect. But a healthy and radiant glow that was noticed by everyone in family. They complimented the new skincare products she is using. If you are planning to gift a single product to your mom- It has to be this. This is her favorite product from this whole range. She have already repurchased a new one.

Royal Velvet Repairing Night Cream – INR 1499

Firms and nourishes the skin for women over 40+. An intensely hydrating cream which is enriched with Black Iris Infusion to improve the skin’s firmness.

Comes in a bulky glass jar like this.

• Firms skin by reducing collagen and elastin breakdown
• Replenishes skin’s hydration overnight
• Improving skin’s bounce and elasticity

She says it smells pleasant and gets absorbed by skin super quick. It hydrates the face and neck and is a very good light weight night cream. My mom uses this after applying the capsules and then go to sleep. She have been following this routine since over 6 months and easily a jar lasts for 6 months if used daily. Only drawback is it is housed in a glass jar and is not very travel friendly. During a recent trip, my mom had packed some of this in a small tub to take it with her in her carryon. It can become quite bulky during travel. She also says- one can skip this if they have serum. Serum is kind of more efficient in her opinion.

Royal Velvet Firming Day Cream SPF 15 – INR 1399

Light weight and easily absorbing formula that leaves no residue behind. Infused with Black Iris for a softer, firmer and visibly younger looking skin.

Similar packaging as that of night cream. A light weight hydrating formula that goes on very smooth on the skin. It doesn’t leave any greasy residue. It has spf 15 which is good. Helps in reducing fine lines and wrinkles if used daily with the entire range.

Same fragrance as other products in the range. She says- What she like about it is – It’s very light weight and no sweating after applying. It’s a good daily cream as per her. nothing miraculous. But, it hydrates skin pretty well. It’s specially targeted for mature skin and that’s what she like about it. She says her skin appear more refined, firmer and soft after started using Royal Velvet range. Again, she told me she love to use the serum more than creams. She would not repurchase creams if she run of it. She prefer serums to creams

Firming Eye Contour Cream – INR 699

My mom never really used an eye cream before. So she was quite excited to use this one. The convenient tube packaging with a thin nozzle makes it easy to apply.

Improves the appearance of under eye circles for women 40+. Enriched with Black Iris Infusion to leave eyes feeling smoother and firmer and looking visibly younger.

She says this cream has helped her tighten the under eye area and also reduce puffiness. Under eye area felt smoother and firmer.

Overall, She is very impressed with the Royal Velvet Range. Her most favorite product is the Royal Velvet Ultra Firming Capsules. Though the packaging looks attractive. She is not a fan of the bulky glass jars. The products which are Light yet deep-nourishing are a blend of 5 precious oils and Black Iris Infusion which leave the skin smoothened and velvety soft, with fine lines and wrinkles visibly reduced. This set is a great gift to moms and MILs <3

Though the entire skincare set scores good as per my mom’s review – I wish this range had a lip balm and a hydrating mask as well. No skincare range is complete without a lip balm and a hydrating/replenishing mask. Oriflame – Are you listening ?
