M·A·C Eyeshadows are highly pigmented powder formulas that applies evenly and blends well. Suitable for use either wet or dry. This is my frst eye shadow from MAC that I am purchasing. I had got PR samples of MAC Eye Shadows in the past.
China’s most outlandish fashion designer puts an acid-soaked twist on her modern M·A·C collection, featuring a vivid kaleidoscope of cutting-edge colour, inspired by the ancient Chinese art form Kunqu. Surreal hues of Lipstick, Cream Colour Base and Eye Shadow, and uniquely designed packaging, are saturated with her signature dramatic flair.
In today’s post I am reviewing the shade ‘Electric Mandarin’ from Chris Chang Collection. Electric Mandarin is a highly pigmented powder eye shadow that comes in a limited-edition design. I purchased this along with other products from this range. You can read the reviews of other products from this collection here, here & here
M·A·C X CHRIS CHANG EYE SHADOW – ELECTRIC MANDARIN – USD $17.00
Mac electric mandarin eyeshadow is described as a “neon mandarin” orange with a matte finish.
Shade, Formula, Pigmentation – I would say, it’s a coral-orange with warm undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff is excellent and the color is the same as how it look on pan. It has a powder consistency which make it sheer and you have to pat the eye shadow brush to get the color instead of that sweeping motion. I hope it make sense. Upon touching the shadow directly on the pan- It feels it’s very hard to blend. But once put on eye lid, it becomes super soft to blend the color.
Longevity – Coral/orange is not a shade that I thought I can wear. But, I am really happy about this shade. It doesn’t crease or fade. I wore this shade for more than 7 hours. I used it as an overall eye lid color and also as a transition shade.
Moving on to swatches – Look how intensely pigmented it is… It almost look like a beautiful coral blush. Who knows- I will wear it as a blush too …heheehhhe
Overall, a really nice subtle day wear shade. Comes in a limited edition packaging that look very pretty. It has a satin finish and applies smoothly. I wore it for more than 7 hours without fading. I wish this range had more colors or maybe a palette so that I could have got chance to try more shades. This is available on the MAC US website.
